Reimbursement of psychotherapy
Below you will find general information about the rates, reimbursement and billing of psychotherapy.
Rates and fees
All psychotherapy offered is included in the basic insurance under the Health Insurance Act as Specialist Mental Healthcare. The therapy is billed monthly through Care Services, the rates of which are determined every year by the National Healthcare Authority (Nza). The amount of reimbursement for psychotherapy depends on your health insurance. Always consult your health insurer to clarify what percentage of your invoices will be reimbursed.
The practice has a contract with the following health insurers* for 2024:

DSW including Stad Holland and In Twente

*NB. Until July 1, 2024, only Marcel Ulrich has contracts with the above health insurers. As of July 1, 2024, this will apply to all practitioners at The Mind Firm.
The treatment is fully reimbursed monthly in kind (directly by the health insurer to the practitioner). You only pay your deductible.

No contract has been concluded with the following health insurers before 2024:
VGZ including IZA, IZZ, VGZ-Bewuzt, Zorgzaam, UMC, Unive and ZEKUR
CZ, including Nationale Nederlanden and Ohra, Just and CZ-direct
ONVZ including VVAA and ONVZ expats
Caresq including Aevitae
Menzis (Ander Zorg, Hema, DinkDink)
ASR (Ditzo), Eno (Salland), Eucare (care4life)

In this case, you first pay the monthly bill yourself, based on a treatment session rate (45 minutes) of € 156.72. Depending on your policy, you will receive 60 to 100% reimbursement from your insurer through a refund.
To be eligible for reimbursement, a referral from the general practitioner is necessary and there must be a diagnosis classification according to DSM-V, which is included in the insured package by the Dutch Healthcare Institute (ZIN). Your diagnosis classification will be determined in consultation with you during the intake.
If there is no diagnosis that falls under the insured care determined by the ZIN (uninsured performance, OZP), the rate in 2024 will be € 120.00 per 45-minute session. A referral is then not necessary.
Cancel appointment
Our psychotherapists like to help as many people as possible. We ask you to only cancel an appointment in extreme cases. If you cancel, it will be difficult for us to give that place to someone else. By canceling as few times as possible, we keep the waiting time as short as possible for everyone.
That is why we ask you the following:
If you cannot come to the practice, the appointment can always take place via a video call connection.
If you cannot meet with the psychotherapist via video calling or telephone, we ask you to cancel the appointment at least 24 hours in advance. We can then try to give your spot to someone else.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the appointment, we are forced to charge a no-show fee of €75.
